LAST Friday a lorry carrying hay was involved in a collision with scaffolding outside the former Globe Inn in Dowell Street, Honiton. Ambulance, fire and police personnel were called to the scene following reports that workmen were trapped on the twisted scaffolding. A male was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from a suspected back injury. The collision caused a temporary closure to part of Dowell Street. The Globe, most recently an antiques and arts centre, is being redeveloped to provide affordable homes in the town centre.
