Colyford breakfast is a sizzling success

Village turns out in force to support the Children’s Hospice South West
A fundraising breakfast in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West was a sizzling success.
Staged as part of the nationwide “Shake Up Your Wake Up” Breakfast Week campaign it attracted a big turnout of hungry diners.
All the food was a locally sourced for the breakfast with bacon donated by Denhay Farms, in Bridport; sausages by the Colyford Butchers and black pudding, tomatoes and mushrooms being donated by the Colyford Post Office and Stores.
Simon Card, Chairman of the Trustees of Colyford Memorial Hall, said he was delighted with the way the breakfast had gone.
He said: “This was a great community event and I would like to thank all the helpers who put in such a great effort to prepare the breakfasts, particularly Helen Maynard who planned it all and sourced all the provisions.
“The added ingredient we offered was Haggis, Sunday night being Burns Night, and we were surprised how many of our paying guests took up our offer!”
