Plans for a small-scale glamping site in Colyford have been approved.

Mr C Hammett lodged an application to build two timber ‘ecoPERCH’ lodges on land at Holywood Farm, 500 metres west of the village.

The site consists of an agricultural field which houses two ponds.

The applicant said: “The lodges would be aimed at those wishing to undertake outdoor pursuits... due to their siting adjacent to existing ponds would also potentially provide for future fishing opportunities.

“The intention of the development is to provide a quiet retreat for those wishing to partake in those activities.”

Two parking areas, one for each lodge, will also be created near the site entrance.

Luxury treehouse experts Blue Forest will deliver the ecoPERCHs, which offer a main bedroom, bunk room, kitchen, bathroom and shower room and a range of optional extras.

The exterior features groove timber cladding, roof shingles and an outdoor deck.
