Grammar school students will present Handel’s Messiah at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday

Nenbers of Colyton Grammar School’s senior choir are hoping that months of rehearsal will end on a high note when they perform Handel’s ‘Messiah’ at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday (April 20).

In the past, the annual spring concert has always been performed in the school hall. However, as the choir has now grown to over 170 singers it has run out of space and has had to relocate to a bigger venue.

It will be the fourth time that this piece has been sung by the choir. They aim to perform it every five years so that all students get the opportunity to perform it at least once during their time in the school choir.

Tickets for the performance at Exeter Cathedral, which starts at 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm), are available from Colyton Grammar School on 01297 552327
