Organisers of a two-day event are hoping to raise more than £1,000 in memory of a young performer.

George Werb was 15 when he died in 2013. His family and friends are fundraising to raise awareness for Young Minds.

The charity offers support to young people and their emotional wellbeing.

Well Mind is made up of Joanne Werb, Sara Perry and Nicki and Madeline Cozens. The quartet began fundraising on Saturday, making £170.

Sara said: “We are all really pleased with what has already been raised in such a short time as we still have until August.

“This is going to be an exciting two-day event which is slightly different but will bring in a lot of awareness and raise much-needed funds.”

Well Mind has begun planning the large scale event over Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, at Colyton Town Hall.

Included in the programme of the day is a theatre workshop, high tea and children’s disco.

Sara has also created an original piece called FreeBird which will be shown for the first time at the event.
