Crew members are offering to wash cars for a donation to their service charity

Colyton firefighters will be out with their buckets of water on Saturday (September 17) – but they won’t be quelling any flames.

Instead the crew is offering a car washing service to raise vital funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.

They will be at the station, in South Street, between 10am and 1pm.

Lee Howell, Chief Fire Officer for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Servicer said: “Monies raised through national fundraising initiatives provide a real boost to The Fire Fighters Charity. As well as being a fun and popular event for the charity, the National Car Wash also gives our firefighters the opportunity to share important safety messages with members of their local community.

“Your valued donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need.”
