RESIDENTS living along the Honiton to Dunkeswell road, at Combe Hill, are up against the clock to persuade the highways authority to introduce traffic calming measures when workmen resurface the B road next month.
Work starts on August 10 and, so far, traffic calming is not a feature of the project.
A highways authority representative is due to meet residents to hear their concerns tomorrow (Thursday).
Brian Lane, 72, who has lived off the road all his life, is concerned about the safety of children.
He told the Herald: "Some people drive like no tomorrow and we are concerned.
"We are trying to get a traffic calming system in place.
