A LEADING manufacturer of industrial fans and blowers has moved to Axminster due to expansion.

Air Control Industries (ACI) has relocated to Millwey Rise estate after 42 years based at Chard.

The company, which also makes knife surface drying systems, moved to the larger premises at Weycroft Avenue last month.

The new site is said to have better access for today's large transport vehicles, and is hoped to improve the handling of goods.

Managing director Paul Tuffin said: "We are delighted that we finally found a suitable factory within five miles of our current location. The new site has plenty of scope for future growth and has excellent access for the large articulated vehicles.

"The move also clears the path for the much needed Chard town centre improvement and planned regeneration of both Boden Mill and the ACI site to achieve the local ambitions laid out in the Vision for the town.

"We will continue to support the Chard Regeneration Scheme and look forward to an exciting new future for the site"
