Axe Valley Community College hosts a baking day for local primary school children

Pupils from seven primary schools got baking when they took on a Cookie Challenge at Axe Valley Community College.

The youngsters not only learnt to make tasty and healthy cookies, they also designed and created their own beautiful packaging and planned their marketing strategies with posters, budgets and Powerpoint presentations.

At the end each team gave a presentation to a panel of expert judges who enjoyed their imaginative and creative ideas as well as sampling the delicious cookies.

The wooden spoon trophy was won by the team from All Saints Primary School with Axminster Primary School a close second.

The judges said they had an almost impossible task as the teams had worked very hard and all the scores were extremely close.

“The students should be proud of their efforts, everyone had a very productive day,” they added.

The event was part of this year’s Primary Enterprise Programme.
