A Honiton IT business has been helping families in ‘food crisis’ by supporting the town’s food bank.
Cosmic Ethical IT, which is based at East Devon Business Centre, is runnings its Spring Clean Your Cupboards (# BringInATin) campaign to encourage businesses in the community to donate any food lying around in the cupboards.
The campaign has received a positive response and the donated food items will be taken to The King’s Centre Food Bank, which is based at the King’s Centre, Lees Buildings, High Street.
Last year The King’s Centre Food Bank fed in the region of 1,236 people and the demand for the service is rising.
Cosmic Ethical IT project manager Vicky Moss-Crump said: “Our core values are at the heart of everything Cosmic does, this includes supporting our local community. The local food bank is a great charity helping to support individuals and families within the community who really need it. We are hoping that the #BringInATin campaign will raise awareness for the food bank and ultimately support its long term sustainability.”
A collection point has been set up in the foyer of the East Devon Business Centre. All donations need to be brought to the collection point by tomorrow (Tuesday, April 29).
