The Leader of West Dorset District Council is using the power of social media to talk with local people.
Cllr Robert Gould is the first council leader in Dorset to publish his own blog, an online diary of his views on a range of subjects.
Cllr Gould has already communicated with local people on issues ranging from car parking to leisure facilities.
The blog is interactive. This means people can give their own views on the entries or seek more information from the author, or the organisation they represent.
Cllr Gould said: "The internet is a very powerful communications tool. It allows organisations like the district council to have a direct conversation with local people on a range of issues.
"The blog will allow me in my position as Leader of the Council to explain the organisation's position on a range of subjects and is another way for us to listen to the views of West Dorset residents.
