Council to plant tree in memory of late mayor

A TREE is to be planted at the Glen by Honiton Town Council in memory of the late Councillor Chris Tratt.

A TREE is to be planted at the Glen by Honiton Town Council in memory of the late Councillor Chris Tratt.Other ways of marking the late mayor's contribution to the town are to be considered by the council's policy committee when it sets its precept. Suggestions include posthumously making him an Honoured Citizen and creating an annual award in his name, recognising the sporting achievements of a young person from Honiton. Town and district councillor Peter Hale suggested the proposed Honiton Community Centre could be named after Councillor Tratt, saying: "It was one of the things very dear to his heart.
