TOWN councillors in Seaton have opposed CCTV cameras - claiming it is an invasion of privacy and a waste of public money. The council has been offered 12 months free use of security cameras, but some councillors fear it will result in the police station being less manned.Cllr Larry Garner said: "I'm against spending more public money when we're already spending on the police."The council recommended the police, rather than the council, applied for the one year free trial and be responsible for its data.
