A CAR crash led a dog called Fly to live up to his name. The lurcher-whippet disappeared following the accident, but has now been found, bruised and shaken.
The drama happened when Membury man Richard Thomas was involved in a collision on the A35, and his four-year-old pet fled the scene.
Ten-year-old terrier Jake also sped off - only to be found 10 hours later.
Mr Thomas said the car rolled over several times, following the incident on Sunday, Agust 9, and he lost consciousness.
He said: "When I came to, the contents of the car had spread up the road, the tail gate had blown open, and the dogs were gone. I didn't see them run off.
"Several people turned up and said one had gone that way, and another the other way. I caught a glimpse of Jake about two hours later and caught up with him later at Wootton Fitz-paine."

Fly was last seen in Hawkchurch on Monday, August 9, before being found four days later.
Mr Thomas, who suffered a fractured rib and other injuries as a result of the collision, believes he got off lighter than the dogs because he was wearing a seat belt.
He said: "Fly is part of the family and we missed her."
He added that Jake was stiff, but safe and well.
