Meerkats and monkeys first to go on show.
Crealy Great Adventure Park has been granted a zoo licence and will keep exotic animals, including meerkats and monkeys.
A yet-to-be-named breeding pair of meerkats are already on show in their Meerkat Manor enclosure.
The move is being hailed “a giant leap forward” by the attraction’s owners. they say it is a way of continually developing itself.
The second phase of the zoo development will see the arrival of a family of Marmoset monkeys.
Kate Lewis, Animal Kingdom manager at Crealy, said: “We are delighted to be able to bring our guests a selection of zoo animals.
“The meerkats have become very popular with our staff and we know they will be a huge hit with our guests too!
“Not only will our guests be able to see the meerkats and monkeys close up, but they will also be able to learn about their history from the educational boards that are located around their enclosure and the daily educational talks conducted by our animal aangers.”
Zoo licence regulations mean dogs are no longer able to visit Crealy Great Adventure Parks in Cornwall and Devon.
