The infamous Hot Pennies event is making a return to Honiton this month.
The annual spectacle will be held in Honiton’s high street on Tuesday, July 26, from noon.
The event will be announced by Dave Retter, Honiton’s town crier, before pennies are thrown from various pubs along the high street.
Last year’s Hot Pennies event drew in a record number of people.
Mr Retter also said it was the best event he had taken part in.
Hot Pennies dates back to the 13th century, when Honiton was granted a Royal Charter. The ceremony remained unbroken for several hundred years.
