Resort police are delighted at 37 per cent fall in number of recorded offences

CRIME figures at Seaton were down again last month – continuing the annual trend.

There were seven recorded incidents in December, against 18 for the same period last year.

Police Sergeant Richard Stonecliffe said he was very pleased with the low levels of crime in the town.

He said: “We have had a very good year in Seaton, with the total number of crimes reducing from 327 in 2009 to 204, a reduction of around 37 per cent.”

Sgt Stonecliffe thanked colleagues PC Roy Hutter and PCSO Chris Bolsover for all their hard work during the year.

He added: “Roy has now moved on to a role in response and I would like to express my sincere thanks to him for all his hard work and commitment over the last three years and welcome his replacement PC Daz Norton as the new Neighbourhood Beat Manager for Seaton Town.”
