The amount of recorded offences in Honiton has fallen, according to statistics released by police.

Honiton PCSO Steve Mingo read out the incidents to councillors at their latest meeting. Of the incidents, six were assaults resulting in actual bodily harm and one common assault, resulting in a person being cautioned.

There was one attempted burglary, one money laundering offence, one concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and two cases of possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Five incidents of criminal damage were also reported, with one building, two vehicles and two properties struck, one drink-driving offence which has been charged to court, one incident of being drunk and disorderly and two breaches of a restraining order.

Mr Mingo said there was one offence of harassment without violence, one non-counting action fraud offence, one possession of a fighting dog, one sexual offence, two communications act offence and four thefts from a shop.

The remaining incidents were one theft of a motor vehicle – namely a motorbike from Dowell Street, two public order act offences in which a youth caution was issued, and one breach of a criminal behaviour order, consisting of ten breaches recorded under one crime.
