Charmouth youngsters make biscuits to sell for the RNLI

Ninety pupils at Charmouth Primary School went on an educational visit to the RNLI lifeboat station in Lyme Regis.

They heard all about the volunteers who go to sea in the lifeboat to save lives from one of the senior crew members, Phil Ball.

And when they went back to their classes they decided they would say ‘thank you’ for their visit by baking biscuits and selling them for 10p each to raise money for the life-saving charity.

Teacher Heidi Daniel said: ”The children were very impressed when they heard that the lifeboat crew are all volunteers and go to sea in dangerous conditions to help other people. So, as part of our project about the sea, the children decided to bake some lemon and ginger biscuits at home and to sell them in aid of the RNLI.”
