A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after falling off his bike in Lyme Regis.

The man in his 20s suffered head injuries following the incident in Pound Street, at 2.30pm, Sunday, July 12.

The air ambulance landed in Holmbush Car Park and Pound Street was closed for just under one hour.

PC Richard Winward praised the residents who helped out at the scene - from storing the cycles, to offering words of comfort.
