Police appeal after 77-year-old victim is discovered next to his bike in Castle Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses after the sudden death of an elderly cyclist in Axminster.

Officers were called to Castle Hill at around 10.30am yesterday morning (Monday, September 22) when the male rider was found dead next to his bike.

The cyclist was has not been named but is thought to be a 77-year-old man who is local to the area.

An ambulance was called and the road was closed while investigations took place at the scene.

The circumstances of his death are not believed to be suspicious but police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 233 of 22nd September.
