Dalwood Coffee Concert to feature the East Devon Daytime Band.

The East Devon Daytime Band will be performing at the Dalwood Coffee Concert.

The band members have very kindly agreed to perform at the monthly Coffee Concert in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, on Wednesday, November 28, from 10.30am until around 11am.

The East Devon Daytime Band is a brass ensemble, which was formed in March 2016 to provide brass players with the opportunity of playing brass band arrangements during the daytime.

As a result of its Christmas 2017 carolling at Sainsbury’s Ottery St Mary and Easter 2018 Hymning at Tesco Honiton, the band was able to donate £200 to Devon Air Ambulance.

This year, the band will be Christmas Carolling at Tesco Superstores in Seaton and Exmouth, and this year’s chosen charity to benefit from these events is Devon Freewheelers.

A spokesman for the Dalwood Coffee Concert said: “If you are in or near Dalwood on Wednesday morning (November 28) why not call in to St Peter’s Church at 10.30am to hear the East Devon Daytime Band (featuring Dalwood’s Mick Oliver on cornet!)

“There will be free coffee and biscuits, a friendly atmosphere and a warm church!”

If anyone would be interested in joining the East Devon Daytime Band, a spokesman for the group said: “We are a friendly, supportive and enthusiastic group of brass players and welcome any current, lapsed or late learner brass players who would like to come and join us .

“Rehearsals are held every Wednesday morning from 10am to noon, in our band room at Tipton St John Community Hall, Tipton St John.”
