DALWOOD Primary School has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for its excellent care and good achievement.

The report said staff at the school 'go the extra mile' for their children.
Pupils start school with skills and abilities which are below national expectations, but achieve above average standards in maths and science by the age of 11, and expected standards in English.
Lead inspector David Townsend said: "Pupils' enjoyment of school is reflected in their good attendance. They enjoy learning, which is enriched by the exemplary range of after-school clubs, special events, strong links with local sports partnerships and an annual residential visit.

Head teacher Sarah Baker said: "This is a fantastic report for our school and all credit goes to our very dedicated staff, supportive families and, of course, our wonderful children.
