Villagers sell soup to buy a life-saving Shelterbox

DALWOOD resident Glenda Venn was so moved by pictures of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami she mobilised the village to help the survivors.

With a group of willing supporters, she organised a soup kitchen in the village hall, on Friday, to raise funds for ShelterBox.

Using produce donated by Millers Farm Shop, The Co-Op and Tesco, volunteers chopped veg baked bread and produced soup for over 60 local residents – raising enough to pay for one ShelterBox, costing some 590.
