Dalwood triumphs in village contest

DALWOOD fought off 60 other villages to be named small village winner in a Devon competition.

DALWOOD fought off 60 other villages to be named small village winner in a Devon competition.The 39th competition, organised by The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), the event was sponsored by Mole Valley Farmers.Dalwood received £100 in vouchers to be spent in the village from the sponsors, along with a CPRE plaque and a road sign.It went through three rounds of judging and special mention was made of the community's strong sense of pride, exemplified by the community-owned village shop and Post Office.
