A DALWOOD woman has won a two month work placement with a charity in Africa.

Rosie Warin, 23, was chosen from over 1100 applicants to win a place on the Vodafone Foundation's 2009 World of Difference UK Programme.

She will work for her chosen charity, United Youth Development Organisation, which works with young people in developed countries to educate them on global issues.

Rosie will take part in a campaign to inspire 16 to 18 year-olds to fight poverty and injustice.

She said: "I'm excited about being able to spend more time working with the organization and expanding on work I have already started doing."

This is the first such programme launched by the Vodafone Foundation. The programme was open to anyone over 18 and gives 500 people from across the UK the opportunity to work for a charity of their choice.
