New recruit joins the team to offer help and support for business people and local residents

A team of Seaton volunteers working to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around dementia has a new recruit.

Karen Curnock has agreed to run a series of free monthly ‘Dementia Friends’ information sessions and is inviting local business people and members of the general public to go along.

They will take place in the Enterprise Suite at The Gateway, Seaton Town Hall, Fore Street, on Fridays September 1, October 6, November 3 and December 1. The free session will start at 10am and last for about an hour.

Karen said: “I signed up to be a Dementia Friends Champion because running information sessions is a way in which I can help. It’s easy to get involved, I attended a training course, receive ongoing support and am now proud to be part of a growing network of people creating dementia friendly communities together.”
