Firefighters tackled a ‘deliberate’ car blaze in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) in East Devon.

A Devon and Somerset Fire Rescue Service crew from Honiton was mobilised to Nags Head Road in Gittisham at 3am to reports of a car on fire.

A fire service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews confirmed one car well alight and got to work to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.”
