Simon Curtis, 38, will be setting out from Dartmouth on Mothering Sunday (March 14) to coincide with Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Simon's 'cycle the lights' campaign is sponsored by Intus Healthcare, which has recently launched OvPlex - a diagnostic for earlier detection of ovarian cancer in symptomatic women.
Simon's own mother's symptoms went undetected for years before she was eventually diagnosed. After battling cancer she died three years later, last June.
Simon said: "Having seen my mother deteriorate so quickly as a result of ovarian cancer, I felt that it was important to raise awareness and valuable funds for research so that misdiagnosis is minimised and women can get treated at an earlier stage."
