A LARGE quantity of diesel was stolen from a distinctive lorry, which was left parked up in a lay-by on the A30 at Monkton overnight last Tuesday.

A LARGE quantity of diesel was stolen from a distinctive lorry, which was left parked up in a lay-by on the A30 at Monkton overnight last Tuesday.

Police are now urging motorists who park up overnight to, if possible, ensure their fuel filler cap is as close to a hedge or wall to deter thieves.

The lorry targeted at Monkton was a distinctive orange colour and police are appealing for witnesses.
