Being keen on low impact transport methods, I strongly support all off-road cycleways and look forward to the time when I hope we are able to cycle in safety from Seaton to Axminster and even further!
At present, the most direct route to Axminster is dangerous and the alternative route is very hilly – which will put off many less dedicated cyclists.
It is a shame that more of the route is not able to follow the river.
I was delighted to learn of this new off -road section and welcome all such initiatives. However, from Seaton to Axminster, the new stretch of cycleway is badly signposted and when we did find it, the surface of the route through the field - before the bridge - was covered in mud and cows’ dung. (So much so that bikes and clothes needed to be hosed down!)
If animals were kept off the track then it would be brilliant, but in practice it was very disappointing.
