Disgraced policeman is not former Honiton man

Archant

Same name confusion of police officers who served in same force.

POLICE officer Nick Stone, who grew up in Honiton and whose family has been at the heart of the town’s carnival for decades, is not the same Nick Stone who was today (Friday) convicted of misconduct in public office .

Both Mr Stones are police officers with Avon and Somerset Constabulary, but the Honiton-born Mr Stone is a custody sergeant and the man convicted at Exeter Crown Court is a PC.

Two officers with the same name, serving on the same force has caused confusion, which has been embarrassing for Honiton’s Mr Stone.

The Midweek Herald is pleased to be able to help avoid any confusion.
