EAST Devon District Council has thrown its weight behind proposals for an eastern by-pass in Honiton.

EAST Devon District Council has thrown its weight behind proposals for an eastern by-pass in Honiton.Councillor Chris Tratt, Honiton's mayor, proposed support for the new road bid at the district council's annual meeting last Wednesday. The proposal won big support, meaning Honiton Town Council can press on with calls for the road.The authority is to appeal to the government - to ensure the road is built before works starts on Cranbrook.Councillor Roger Boote initially raised the matter.
