Packed programme of events planned to celebrate Dunkeswell Airfield’s 70th anniversary.

Visitors to this year’s Wings and Wheels event in Dunkeswell are being reminded that a signed diversion will be in place due to work being carried out at Langford Bridge.

The event celebrates the 70th anniversary of Dunkeswell Airfield and is being held on Saturday and Sunday.

The airfield was the base for the US Navy during World War II and it was the only US navy base in the UK during the war.

There will be battle re-enactments, performances of war-era music as well as displays of aircraft and military vehicles.

Two actors from the television series Band of Brothers will be in attendance.

For tickets or more information call Patricia Knowles and David Bunney on 01404 890174.
