Dog owners flouting the rules could face an 80 fine.
Dog owners are being reminded of a ban that has come into force on the district’s beaches following the winter break.
The dog ban runs until September 30 and prohibits dogs from entering certain parts of the beaches.
A spokesman for East Devon District Council said: “Uniformed and plain clothes enforcement officers will be patrolling all areas throughout the summer and people found walking their dogs in these banned areas may be served with a fixed penalty notice, which carries a fine of 80; should any cases be taken to court, then fines may be incurred of up to 1,000.”
