The search has been launched by the Cinnamon Trust, a national charity supporting elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

A charity spokesman said: “We are desperately trying to find some dog walking volunteer support and, in particular, for an elderly resident and their beloved dog.

“The dog is a friendly and utterly gorgeous one-year-old Cavapoo called Marley who lives in Honiton [postcode EX14].

“We often have a plethora of new requests from elderly or chronically ill residents from around Honiton and the surrounding areas who approach us looking for our help in finding likeminded dog lovers to take their beloved pets out for much needed walks.

“This helps enable them to keep them with them for as long as possible.”

Anyone who is interested in helping can get in touch with the trust by calling 01736 758707 or emailing appeals@cinnamon.org.uk
