Last summer Dolphin House Gallery in Colyton reached its 30th anniversary and the plan had been to have a special exhibition by the owners to celebrate.
Now a year late – thanks to Covid – the exhibition is here and everyone is invited to come and see the show until July 24.
New oil paintings by Roger St Barbe, well known for his popular etchings, include landscapes, flowers, birds and butterflies. As a great nature-lover, Roger always works from life in a strong style which embues the subjects with vigour and significance.
The paintings are accompanied for the first time by the beautiful patchwork creations of co-owner of the gallery Emma Laughton.
Emma has been developing her patchwork skills since childhood and her intricate work reflects her long fascination with geometric design.
Dolphin House Gallery first opened as a venue for paintings, prints, ceramics and picture framing in 1990.
Roger and Emma wish to thank all their customers, supporters and suppliers who have contributed to its success.
The gallery is open Wednesday to Friday 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
