In your April 22 edition, there is a tribute to the late Dor Evans, formerly of Colyton.I knew the family well for times spent on the River Thames. Two bungalows: one, Bag End, belonged to the Evans family and we had, upstream, Makeshift, both at Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. The Evans' created a swimming pool and changing room behind their bungalow. They allowed us to use it when they were not there So, our time there was a dream. One could write a book on life on the Thames. Our cruiser, Merula, was 26 feet long. We took the cruiser upstream to Henley to sleep on board. Happy dreams.Peter WebsterCornerways School Lane South Chard
