Items thought to have been taken from properties across Devon and Cornwall

POLICE are appealing for help to find the owners of a large number of power tools and other items which are thought to have been stolen from premises across Devon and Cornwall.

More than 100 items were recovered by officers during a recent search at a commercial property in Bridport.

Detective Sergeant Paul Smith, of Weymouth CID, said: “The seized items include a substantial number of power tools, outboard engines, a trailer and a lawnmower.

“It is strongly believed that the articles were stolen during burglaries committed in Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Avon, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

“Although extensive research has led to the identification of a number of the items allowing them to be re-united with their owners, a large proportion is still unidentified.

“I am very keen to return these items to the owners.

“Any victims of such a crime, reported or not reported, within the last four months should contact Dorset Police.

“Please be aware that serial numbers or other identifiable feature relating to the stolen property will need to be provided.

“I am appealing to the owners of the property to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Owners of such stolen property should call Dorset Police on 01305 22 22 22 quoting incident number 09:502.
