POLICE say the death of drink-driver John Bingham highlights what can happen when people get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
Sergeant Martin Burrow said: "This unfortunate event shows the potential consequences of driving whilst under the influence of drink (or drugs), and the potential for innocent members of the community to be affected.
"We would always encourage people to plan their nights out so that designated drivers can be chosen before the start of a night out or if this is not possible a choice made between either drinking or seeking alternative travel arrangements.
