CHRISTIANS from Seaton joined thousands of people from across the UK to celebrate the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

The group met at the Plymouth Pavilions and leader Simon d'Albertanson was officially recognised as an accredited Baptist minister - with over 50 other men and women from around the country.

He said: "It was amazing to stand on the conference stage in front of thousands of people and receive their commendation.

"Being part of Seaton Baptist Church has been an incredible journey - we've had six baptisms, one funeral and two dedications, and some amazing times together as we laughed, cried, eaten and marshalled at the Grizzly together.

"Seaton is an amazing place to live and it's been great to partner with others in the town for events like the Christmas light switch on and Fair trade fortnight."

The church meets at Seaton Primary School every Sunday at 10.30am.

* In September, the church will be partnering with the school again to run 'Drug proofing your Kids.' The course is aimed at parents concerned about the dangers of alcohol and drug misuse. Please contact the church office on 07899 086169 for more details.
