The person, or persons, who took the trouble to drive to Southleigh and throw their old washing machine into the woods halfway down Southleigh Hill should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, but somehow I do not suppose they even care. This is addressed to them and any others who might feel like doing the same.1 It must have cost as much in petrol to drive here as it would have done to either get to the nearest tip of pay whoever delivered your new machine (which I expect you now have) to take away the old one (£5 - £7).2 Having got this far, it is only three miles further to the tip at Sutton Barton where you could have disposed of it legally.3 Have you thought of fingerprints? These must be all over the machine and, given the supposedly rapidly growing police data base, it may even be possible to match them, if anyone would take the trouble. This might happen in the future if the litter problem gets much worse.Meantime, I bet you will not have the guts to come and reclaim it. It is people like you who give our country such a bad name.I repeat, shame on you, I hope you get caught!J ConnorSouth Bank Southleigh
