WHEN Dunkeswell couple Peter and Lisa Gorman decided to embrace the Good Life style of living, they bought three chickens and hoped to collect some eggs.
After a few bantam-sized eggs, they got a shock when they found one hen had laid an egg-within-an-egg which, at nine centimetres long, just fell short of a world record.
"We'd had a couple of double yokers, but nothing like this," said Lisa. "When we cracked the egg open we found another egg inside it."
Johanne Gorman is pictured holding the big lay, while her sister, Lucy, holds a normal-sized egg.
