Dunkeswell's St Nicholas' Church has supported two charities after raising £2,000 throughout the course of last year.

Cheques for £1000 each were given to the Blackdown Support Group and WHERE (Westcountry Health and Education Research Enterprise).

The Blackdown Support Group cares for young and old, for those in need of extra help when sick or suffering from accidents, disabilities or advancing years. WHERE supports adults with a disability.

The charity creates a safe and friendly environment to reduce adult loneliness and encourage friendships and learning together.

The church has also supported Honiton Food Bank, Christian Aid, The Children’s Society and donated towards the cost of the village defibrillator during the year.
