An avid young reader has successfully read 100 books - earning her Booktrack Gold award.

Kaitlin Trott, who is 10-years-old and lives in Dunkeswell, completed her impressive challenge in 18 months - reading a variety of authors in that time.

Linda Isaacson, supervisor at Honiton Library, said: “She started off with Esiotrot by Roald Dahl as her first book and read a lot of the fairy books by Daisy Meadows.

“She then read all of the David Walliams books as well as more Roald Dahl titles along the way.

“Animal stories were a great favourite and we are sure she’ll carry on reading more of them now she has finished her Booktrack.”

The library Booktrack scheme is aimed at children who can read and understand the content of the books they have chosen.

Children can take as long as they like to complete the scheme and rewards in the way of badges and stickers are given at various stages along the way for encouragement.
