East Devon Guides celebrate end of centenary year

AS Girl Guiding’s centenary year officially came to a close at 20.10 on Saturday, October 20, 2010, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section members, Leaders, Trefoil Guild members and invited guests of the Axminster Division area celebrated with a party in Uplyme village hall entitled Vision.

While this was going on, local bellringers joined in the celebrations by ringing out the old centenary and ringing in the new one.

This meant the occasion was brought to the attention of the wider community – many of whom support the Guide Association locally - and they too became part of the evening by hearing the bells.

Axminster Division Guiding leaders later expressed their thanks to the bellringers for their efforts.
