An East Devon hotel has received one of TripAdvisor’s highest accolades.

The Dower House at Rousdon has been named one of the UK’s top 25 small hotels in the 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The award is based on the positive TripAdvisor feedback from guests and recognises all the things that make the hotel unique including its friendly customer service, the luxurious interiors, the overall exceptional value for money and the home-from home atmosphere.

Owner Neil Baker said: “We are delighted to have been recognized with this Travellers’ Choice award. Our whole team works hard to ensure all of our guests have an exceptional stay with us and the award reflects everything that makes us special.”

Sitting in superb countryside among some of the best views in East Devon, the Dower House was originally built in 1880 on the Rousdon Estate and then converted into a rectory before being acquired by the Allhallows Public School.

The building has recently undergone a major refurbishment overseen by new owners Neil and his wife Rosemarie. It now boasts a heated swimming pool, ten newly refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms, which have been updated to an exceptional standard, as well as two acres of beautifully planted gardens.
