Communities across the region wear their poppies with pride

Communities across East Devon turned out in force yesterday (Sunday) and again today to honour the casualties of war.

Towns and villages across the region fell silent for two minutes at Remembrance and Armistice Day commemorations.

At Axminster Sunday’s parade from South Street car park to the church was led by piper Charlie Nicholls from Axmouth, a retired major from the RAMC. He was closely followed by Royal British Legion standard bearers Valerie Clarke and Stan Fifer, along with Allen Brown carrying the Union flag.
