East Devon residents help achieve recycling record

Residents in Honiton, Seaton and Axminster have set a new record for recycling waste Christmas trees.

RESIDENTS in Honiton, Seaton and Axminster have helped set a new record in 2011 after recycling more than 500 waste Christmas trees.

A total of 514 waste Christmas trees were recycled across East Devon with the help of East Devon District Council’s StreetScene staff with 50 trees collected in Honiton, 53 in Seaton and 44 in Axminster.

The composted trees will be used as garden mulch in parks.
