Excitement is building at Ferne Animal Sanctuary for its upcoming ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’.

A big Easter event at Ferne Animal Sanctuary will let people see more than 20 rabbits and see numerous other animals, take part in a treasure trail, open day, and take part in making Easter crafts.

Events start with the treasure trail on Saturday, March 28, which runs until Sunday, April 12.

Entry is £1 and maps are available from the main reception in the brand-new rehoming centre.

Once all the treasure is found, children can report back to reception to claim their chocolate prize. Ferne’s Easter open day is on Saturday, April 4, from 11am to 4pm.

Entry is £5 for adults, £2 for children over the age of three (visitor passes are suspended on special event days).

The open day includes free entry to the treasure trail, and lots of different activities and stalls in the barn.

These include face painting, a raffle, cake stall, bric-a-brac, book stall and lucky dip. There’s also a competition for the ‘most gloriously impressively decorated egg’ - prizes will be presented on the open day.

A free shuttle bus will be available from Crowshute car park, next to Sainsbury’s in Chard. This will run from 10.45am, and the last bus will leave the sanctuary at 4pm.
